🎙️ What is SlamCaster?
SlamCaster is a broadcasting app for Android. It takes audio from your microphone, a USB audio interface or your own music files, mixes it, and sends it live to an Icecast, Shoutcast or RTMP server — while recording the same show to your device if you want it.
It was built for people running a real show: DJs, radio hosts and podcasters who need a talk button that works, music that ducks under their voice, and a jingle they can fire without stopping anything else.
🔊 Audio broadcasting
Broadcast from the internal microphone, an external or USB audio device, or audio files on your phone — several at once, mixed the way you want them.
Connect a multichannel interface and pick a single channel to go out in mono, or combine any two into a stereo pair.
Send the current song name to your listeners automatically, or set a fixed title of your own and send that instead. On Icecast servers the listener count comes back live.
Keep up to three servers configured and broadcast to two of them at the same time — a main server and a backup, or an Icecast station and YouTube together.

📹 Video over RTMP
Send audio and video to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook or any RTMP-compatible service. RTMPS, the encrypted version, works too.
Use one of your device cameras as the video source, or a still image when you only want a picture behind the audio. If the camera can't be opened, SlamCaster falls back to the image rather than dropping the broadcast.
Cameras rarely hand back the exact shape you asked for, so you choose how the picture sits in the frame: Fill crops it, Fit keeps all of it and adds bars. Either way it keeps its proportions instead of being stretched.

🎛️ On-air tools
The things you actually reach for mid-show.
Push To Talk
Hold to open the mic, release to close it. If you'd rather it worked the other way round, an invert option in settings turns it into push-to-mute.
Ducking
The music drops to a level you set the moment you press talk, and comes back up smoothly when you let go. No hand on the fader.
Sound Board
Sixteen pads for jingles and stings, fired polyphonically. Each pad fills with colour as it plays so you can see how long is left, and takes a name and colour of your own. There's a talk button on the board itself.
Playlists
Up to five named playlists, built from audio files on your device or any storage provider, with repeat and shuffle. Switching between them doesn't interrupt the song that's playing.
Mixer and effects
Independent levels for microphone, music and sound board, with two volume presets and a mic input trim. An equalizer, delay, reverb and limiter sit on the output.
Boost
An automatic loudness leveler that holds the whole mix steady, measured in LUFS so you can match what the streaming platforms normalise to.
Monitoring
Hear yourself through headphones, wired, USB or Bluetooth. Without headphones the monitor mutes itself while you hold talk, so the mic can't catch its own output and howl.
Recording
Record the show while it goes out, in any of the supported formats. Play recordings back in the app, share them, or delete the ones you don't want.
